Our Bluefish TV team has been working for 9 long months on a new show called Parenting: The Early Years. Our crews spent hours and hours in the homes of 20 families capturing real-life parenting moments and parenting questions. If you have kids between the ages of 1 and 12 you know what I am talking about.
We've worked with Drs. Les and Leslie Parrott on other video projects, but I think this is their best work. They've written several best-selling books, been on Oprah, Focus on the Family, The Today Show, Christianity Today and they speak all across the country on relationship issues. In fact, they just launched a new project with eHarmony called eHamony Marriage. On our Parenting: The Early Years show they provide very practical and Biblical teaching on becoming the parent you want to be.
I am really excited about this new Parenting show. Our team is putting the finishing touches on it and it will be released by the end of summer. Here's a link to a short trailer.

Announcing Plans for a New Small Group Study - The Organic God with Margaret Feinberg
Bluefish is thrilled to announce that we have just agreed to work on a new video-driven Bible study resource called The Organic God with our friend Margaret Feinberg. Margaret is a great teacher and excellent writer. She worked with us on a 4-part video series on the Life of Mary. She has also spoken at the Rightnow Campaign’s Leadnow Conferences and Fusion Experience events across the country.
Publisher’s Weekly recently commented on her new book saying, “An emerging popular writer for culture-savvy evangelicals, Feinberg challenges (readers) to trade in their current relationship with God for an organic one. (Her) personality shines forth on every page, making her text a delectable treat.”
Our team will head to Alaska to shoot pieces with Margaret in scenic places around her home. Look for the video series to be released sometime this fall.
What readers are saying about the book:
-----"I just finished the Organic God and it was definitely a great blessing to my life. I recently ended my relationship with my "krispy Kream Donut guy" whom I was with for 1year and 4months and whom I gave my entire heart to, and its been really tough but God has definitely used your book to help lift up my spirit. I grew up in a chrisitan home and never really took the time to learn and appreciate the Bible for what it is. After reading your book, God has turn on my flame for him, and I desire him. I want to know him. I like reading the Bible." -- Reader
----"So I walked into the Denver Seminary bookstore today to get my “fix” of new books. And there it was. Like someone had spilled a jar of indigo ink into the fishbowl of my life, The Organic God stood before me. It was prominently displayed at eye-height right as I walked in the store. I picked it up. Hard-back. The opening chapter is brilliant! I laughed (out-loud, [is there any other way to laugh?]) and read to everyone in the house the part about your grandmother giving you a truly Jewish present. Very heart-felt. Not too girly. I still feel like a man while reading; but I feel like I am reading a woman author who is comfortable being a woman author writing to men." --Pastor

Psalms 23
Julie came back from Allen Bible Church's women's retreat excited about memorizing scripture. The speaker for the weekend emphasized how important it is to know God's word.
Admittedly, I have never invested much energy in memorizing portions of the Bible. But Julie's excitement got our whole family in to it. How can you watch this video and not be challenged to go for it?
Here's Abby getting into the action:

Just Returned from Washington D.C.
Our team just returned from a great event in Washington DC. A lot was crammed into a short trip. Two of our producers spent time with Todd Phillips of Frontline Church shooting some video pieces that teach on the life of Joshua. We took a fresh approach and connected parts of Joshua's life to things we are all familiar with like Lincoln's involvement in the Civil War, Washington's role as leader during the Revolutionary War, Arlington Cemetary and other well-known historical events.
Leadnow and Fusion were also great. I never imagined that the Rightnow Campaign would be producing events ... but this is our sixth one! I think what I love about events is getting people together where they can talk face-to-face and process through issues. I am learning to be more intentional about building relationships and not just being task driven. It was fun to interact more with our speakers and the attendees from the event. We had a fun little dinner on Friday night with just the speakers and it was a great time to remind them about the heart of the Rightnow Campaign and then just to laugh together.
Here's a pic we took hanging out backstage.
